Brushing Your Entire Mouth Properly

Yes, I meant mouth and not teeth. The reason behind this is not only teeth exist in your mouth your gums, your tongue, the upper palate of your mouth also needs cleaning. Hold your toothbrush in a 45-degree angle near the gum line and brush your teeth well back and forth and in up and down movements. Brush your gums well, do not press the brush too hard on the gum or you may injure yourself. Then brush the surfaces of your tongue and your upper palate. This will help get rid of any bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath. Make it a habit to brush your teeth minimum twice a day.

Visit the Dentist Regularly

If you have a problem, Call your local practice dental clinic, and make regular appointments for a quick check up. You can do all the home care to maintain a healthy oral hygiene, but you leave the rest to the dental experts. There may be dental problems that you may not be aware of, and therefore at least every 6 months, do a dental check and if possible, do a good clean up as well.  Following this kind of routine check-ups will have less long-term issues with your teeth or mouth.

Limit Foods and Beverages That Are Not Teeth Friendly

For most of us primary reason of food is to eat something tasty. But have we ever considered or thought what does the food and drinks that we intake are doing to our teeth? Food like nuts, fruits, cheese, chicken, and vegetables does not do much harm to your teeth. A fact about cheese is that it helps to produce more saliva which neutralizes acid. Tobacco is one thing you should completely get rid of.

Avoiding this will save you from huge complications such as oral cancer. Added to this sweets or other mints you take to suppress the tobacco smell; you will be doubling the harm to your teeth.  You should also limit the intake of sodas and alcohol. Too much of sodas and alcohol can reduce the calcium levels of the body and cause problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.

Flossing Your Teeth Once A Day

However good brushing your teeth twice or thrice a day, you cannot entirely clean your teeth, brushing does help to clean most of the parts in your mouth. But to get rid of the small food stuck in between your teeth can be challenging by only brushing that’s why flossing is needed. Make it a must to floss your teeth at least once a day.
