NEW POLICE OFFICERS FOR GRIFFITH LOCAL AREA COMMAND

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed five new probationary constables to the Griffith Local Area Command.

Mr Piccoli congratulated the new recruits on graduating from the Goulburn Police Academy and thanked them for their commitment to combating crime, and protecting the community.

“I would like to welcome our newest officers to the region, and extend our gratitude to them for devoting their careers to such an honourable cause,” Mr Piccoli said.

NSW GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTES $290,000 TO UPGRADE OF MOAMA RECREATION RESERVE

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli welcomed the NSW Government’s contribution of $290,000 to the significant upgrade of the Botanic Gardens Riverine Precinct at the Moama Recreation Reserve.

Mr Piccoli attended the opening yesterday and said the improved recreation facilities will benefit the whole community.

“Sports lovers will appreciate new, modern facilities, such as the cycling criterium circuit, high jump arena and permanent obstacle course,” Mr Piccoli said.

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed 2017/18 funding of $24,000 awarded to Murray River Council under the NSW Government’s Heritage Grants Program to assist towards heritage advisor services and local heritage protection.

Mr Piccoli said looking after our heritage is everyone’s responsibility and communities play an important role in maintaining and promoting local heritage.

“Our local heritage speaks to our history so it is important to protect, promote and celebrate it,” Mr Piccoli said.

NEW ROUND OF FUNDING TO BOOST ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has urged local organisations with innovative projects to enhance women and girls’ economic opportunities to apply for funding as part of the NSW Government’s 2017 Investing In Women grants program.               

Mr Piccoli said the NSW Government’s Investing in Women grants program is a fantastic way to find new, local initiatives that invest in education, leadership and financial security for women.

NEW FUNDING FOR INNOVATIVE SERVICES IN MURRUMIDGEE LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed Murrumbidgee Local Health District as one of the first areas in NSW to benefit from the NSW Government’s Mental Health Innovation Fund, which will improve the lives of people living with mental health issues across the state.

Mr Piccoli said the Murrumbidgee Local Health District will receive $280,000 to implement plans to dramatically enhance how mental health services in the area work with drug and alcohol services.
