BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE BOOST

 Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli announced more families in and around the Griffith area will be able to access before and after school care thanks to a $30,000 grant from the NSW Government. 

St Patrick’s Primary School has been awarded the funding to establish a new out of school hours care program operated by the PCYC, creating up to 40 new before and after school places for students.

$30,000 ELECTRICAL UPGRADE FOR BUILDINGS AT GRIFFITH SHOWGROUNDS

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli today announced $30,000 for urgent electrical works on buildings including Woodside Hall at the Griffith Showgrounds.  

Mr Piccoli said renovations underway at the Showground revealed the need for new electrical power boards in the Showground buildings to ensure the safety of all users. 

“This emergency grant of $30,000 under the Public Reserves Management Fund Program (PRMFP) will fund the essential electrical upgrade needed for the Griffith Showground,” Mr Piccoli said. 

NAIDOC WEEK GRANTS TO CELEBRATE ABORIGINAL CULTURE

Member for Murray has encouraged local community groups to celebrate Aboriginal culture and apply for NAIDOC Week 2017 grants.

“The NSW Government is again offering small grants for grass roots organisations to run local events marking NAIDOC Week, the annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture,” said Mr Piccoli.

“This is a great opportunity for the region’s groups to get some funding for their NAIDOC Week events.

NEW FUND TO BOOST REGIONAL GROWTH THROUGH INVESTING IN ENVIRONMENT AND TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli is encouraging local community and government organisations in the region to apply for funding for environment and tourism projects under the NSW Government’s new $300 million Regional Growth – Environment and Tourism Fund.

Mr Piccoli said the fund aims to increase tourist visitation by supporting regional environment and tourism infrastructure projects to help grow and diversify regional economies across the State.

ANOTHER GOLD AT AUSTRALIAN TOURISM AWARDS FOR DENILIQUIN BIG 4

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has congratulated the Deniliquin Big 4 Holiday Park on their outstanding achievement at the Australian Tourism Awards, which were held last Friday evening.

‘The Deniliquin Big 4 Holiday Park has taken out the Gold Medal in the Caravan and Holiday Parks category for the second year in succession.

ANOTHER GOLD AT AUSTRALIAN TOURISM AWARDS FOR MOAMA ON MURRAY RESORT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has congratulated the Moama on Murray Resort on their outstanding achievement at the Australian Tourism Awards, which were recently held.

“The Moama on Murray Resort has taken out the Gold Medal in the Standard Accommodation category for the second year in succession.

“Successive Gold Medals makes it easy to see what fabulous holiday accommodation Moama on Murray Resort offers visitors to the Moama and Echuca areas,” Mr Piccoli said.

Condolences to the Family and Communities of Moama and Deniliquin

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has offered his sincere condolences to the family and tight-knit communities of Moama and Deniliquin.

His comment follows the tragic loss of a five year old boy and his hospitalised brother under heart-breaking circumstances.

“I was very saddened to hear of the events that occurred last week and I know that community members are also shocked at what has occurred,” Mr Piccoli said.

TASTE RIVERINA GETS EVENT FUNDING FROM NSW GOVERNMENT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli today announced that the Taste Riverina Festival will receive a funding boost of $20,000 through the NSW Government’s 2017 Flagship Event Fund.

Mr Piccoli said he was delighted that Taste Riverina will benefit from the Flagship Event Fund.

“The Flagship Event Fund is a terrific NSW Government initiative and part of our renewed commitment to boost regional economies through tourism and major events,” he said.
