COMMUNITY URGED TO REGISTER FOR RECORD REGIONAL ARTS AND CULTURE INVESTMENT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli is reminding the region’s artists, performers and organisations to register their ideas both big and small for infrastructure and arts projects in the region to deliver long-term cultural benefits to the community. 

The record $100 million Regional Cultural Fund investment over four years is part of the Deputy Premier’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund to improve economic outcomes as well as local amenities and the standard of living across regional NSW communities.

‘WORLD FIRST’ PROJECT TO REDUCE IMPACT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN ABORIGINAL COMMUNITIES

The NSW Government is greatly expanding the pilot of an innovative service to help Aboriginal defendants comply with an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO), Attorney General Mark Speakman, Minister for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Pru Goward and Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli announced today.

FUNDING BOOST FOR GRIFFITH SHOWGROUND

Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole and Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres today announced a $240,000 investment to upgrade facilities and infrastructure at the Griffith Showground.

Mr Toole said the NSW Government’s Public Reserves Management Fund program would make a $191,869 contribution to the Griffith Showground Trust.

"A well-maintained, vibrant and sustainable showground is the pride of many communities across regional NSW," Mr Toole said

2018 FLAGSHIP EVENT FUND NOW OPEN FOR EVENTS IN THE REGION

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has encouraged event organisers in the region to apply for grants under the NSW Government’s 2018 Flagship Event Fund, with expressions of interest open from today.

Mr Piccoli said the Fund will offer successful applicants a one-off annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 per year for three years.

REGIONAL SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE FUND

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed the NSW Government’s huge boost for sports facilities in the region after the Government announced it would invest $100 million in new and existing sports infrastructure across regional NSW.

Mr Piccoli said the Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund, which is part of the Deputy Premier’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, will go towards improving the quality and quantity of sports venues in regional areas.

WENTWORTH SHIRE COUNCIL RECEIVES $135,000 INNOVATION GRANT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed Wentworth Shire Council’s successful application for a NSW Government grant to develop and implement a new customer service delivery model across its communities.

Wentworth Shire was one of 26 councils and two county councils to share $2 million in grants under the NSW Government’s Innovation Fund which were available as one-off grants to rural and regional councils with a population of less than 10,000 people.

EDWARD RIVER COUNCIL RECEIVES $79,638 INNOVATION GRANT

Edward River was one of 26 councils and two county councils to share $2 million in grants under the NSW Government’s Innovation Fund which were available as one-off grants to rural and regional councils with a population of less than 10,000 people.

HAY SHIRE COUNCIL RECEIVES $60,000 INNOVATION GRANT

Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli has welcomed Hay Shire Council’s successful application for a NSW Government grant to implement new technology to improve Council’s connectivity and internal and external communications.

Hay Shire was one of 26 councils and two county councils to share $2 million in grants under the NSW Government’s Innovation Fund which were available as one-off grants to rural and regional councils with a population of less than 10,000 people.
